Bhausaheb's Legacy
The Late Karmaveer Bhausaheb Hiray, our personal source of inspiration,
founded the Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandir at Malegaon Camp, then a small
rural town in Nashik District on 2nd October 1952. He strongly believed
that good education alone can bring about intellectual awakening in
the people. Crystallization of his idealistic vision and the ceaseless
endeavors of his worthy successor, late Shri Vyankatraoji Hiray, made
MGV a great temple of learning with a string of educational institutes.
Like other mighty institutes, ours too had a humble beginning but
the zeal, enthusiasm, dedication, sacrifice and spirit of service
of the founder helped us progress by leaps and bounds. After the untimely
demise of Shri Vyankatraoji Hiray, his wife Smt. Pushpatai Hiray and
his son Shri Prashant Hiray have sent out on the challenging mission
to fulfill the exalted ideals of Vidyamandir.
