MSG College a leading insitution in Nashik was established in the year 1971, at the banks of river Godavari, on a donated land by then famous literate and Sanskrit scholar Dr. V. M. D. Patwardhan. Under the chairmanship of Loknete Vyankatrao Hiray and Vice-Chairmanship of Dr. V. M. D. Patwardhan the institute, “Adivasi Seva Samitee” started the function of this college. Previously this college was known as ‘Panchavati College’. At the beginning along with Arts, Science, Commerce faculties, the ‘Course in Diploma in Pharmacy’ was also introduced. Later on, the functioning was transferred to “M. G. Vidyamandir, Malegaon Camp”.

In the year 1975, junior college got attached to senior collegeas per the recommendations of the famous Kothari commision. The college is affiliated to the University of Pune and recognized under (2f) and (12b) of UGC Act.

With its rich heritage of academic excellence, today the strength of the college in all faculties from Junior & Senior College is above 5000.

The college has a highly qualified and trained staff with rich academic and research experience that forms the strong backbone for any educational institute. Majority of the teaching staff is associated with academic, research and extension activities at college, University and National Levels. The college prides itself on its vibrant NSS and NCC units. The college is also engaged in grooming of students in Sports under the guidance of reputed sport personalities.
